The retired general Otto Perez Molina, Sunday (11/06) evening, claimed victory in the presidential elections in Guatemala for almost 90 percent of electoral information.
Perez, 61, has an advantage over nearest rival, Manuel Baldizon populist businessman, according to partial results.
"All citizens of Guatemala have put their trust in me. Thank you very much for people who do not choose the Guatemalan Otto Perez. I want to unite and work together in the next four years, despite the color of the party, "said Pérez Molina in a radio broadcast.
Once confirmed, Perez - who have vowed to defeat the extreme violence and poverty in Guatemala - President Alvaro Colom will replace a new power in a period.
