Arroyo Stopped at The Hospital

Former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was arrested on Friday because of fraud in the elections, the result is a life sentence in a hospital in Manila. President Benigno Aquino and the Arroyo administration has long been accused of corruption during the two terms, 2001-2010, although the government until Friday, has not formally charged.

"Now it is under our supervision, our custody," said Superintendent Franklin Bucavu Director of District Police in the South, briefly press outside the hospital of St. Luke.

"The arrest warrant was executed. We tried to read him his rights, but his lawyers have given up because of his condition. We smiled and he had predicted."

Arroyo denied the allegations.

Police said the Arroyo family, his lawyer, and several members of his cabinet with him to the hospital when the order was executed. "We placed two police officers outside his room and there are still some officials of that country to protect," said Bucavu, adding that the former president was wearing a neck brace, when the order was executed. "He just nodded and said not a word."
